I want to know if there are any good and trustworthy places that I can get a free VPS for testing purposes. It doesn't need to be the world's best server, any specs will work fine for me. All the sites I've tried so far are scams, and I haven't gotten anywhere in my search. Anyone here had any good experiences with a free VPS provider? Are there any catches, or is it purely free?

VPS are not cheap to run and maintain so i doubt you will find any free reliable one. Also what service have you tried cause a quick search and am seeing alot of options like

GratisVps
VPSWala (looks sketchy)

I have already tried Gratis and Wala, to no success. VPSserver is only a 7 day free trial, and ideally I want one for longer than that.

Have you consider using service like heroku? I don't know what you are actually trying to do but since you require VPS this might also do the trick. Also their free trial is nice and suitable for small/test project. And IMO it is easier to setup than AWS since it uses git.

Well there is actually nothing as a free vps but you can get free trials from website such as linode, vultr and dreamhost. You can get actually free trials go for them.

I'd forgotten about heroku. Could work. I'll give it a try :)

There is (or at least, was). I used to have one at vps.me but they shut that down after a while. Now their prices are ridiculously high.

There are forums that give you free VPSes for posting on their forums, they work similarily to BMF
That is true, but I feel it is too much effort for a throwaway testing VPS. I'd ideally want one that takes max 20 minutes to set up. But thanks for pointing that out :)

there was a way ( that i forgot of course ) where you could claim some google coupons , that you can use to get a free VPS , i don't know if this method still exists or no , i'll post it here once i ask a friend of mine that told me about it months ago

vultr vps the recommeded you can get a vps of following specs for a month with 5$ free vultr credit all details are provided in the screenshot for you to have a look , you might need to attach a card but i don;t think so you'll need to attach it

You can use Amazon Web Services' Free Tier, which offers a free VPS for one year with limited resources. Another option is CloudSigma's Free Tier, which offers a free VPS for a limited time with limited resources.

Finding a truly free and trustworthy VPS provider can be challenging. While there are some legitimate options, be cautious of scams. Providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure offer free tiers with limited resources for testing. However, these often require credit card verification. Also, some smaller VPS providers may offer limited free plans. Always read the terms and conditions carefully to ensure there are no hidden catches. Remember that while it's possible to find free VPS, they might have restrictions and limitations.
