Hello dear BMF members

Its been three months im into affiliate marketing, with the limited resources i have, the most suitable way is promoting e-commerce affiliate products on twitter.

The standard commision rate is 10% from new buyer and 2.5% from existing buyer.

My twitter account only have 20+ followers, but surprisingly there is a good amount of conversions (something like 10 sales from 100 clicks)

The problem is, all of the sales comes from a cheap products (based on the price, not the quality). so i've been thinking how to get more commision by offering products with a better price.

One of my mistake is not focusing on the specific niche as i just randomly tweeting any affiliate products on that platform.

Now, the question is
"how to get sales from this expensive products"

What i'm doing at the moment is using one tweet to promote 4 products (you can post four images on a tweet right?)

As i dont have many followers, i had to use the trending keywords. but posting four affiliate links and their description, limited the use of keywords (not enough characters) and obviously, without the trending keywords only few people saw the tweet.

Well , for you to have sales for expensive products ; you need to find find the buyers with the purchasing power ; A visitor from Kenya won't be able to buy the same expensive product as a visitor who comes from.Us , You need to figure out followers , but growing an account is better than buying followers , you are tweeting random stuff ; that's wrong ; avoid that focus on niche ; try sharing 3 normal posts + 1 affiliates post with an interval , try these settings for few days and let me know how it helps you out ; may you find a ton of sales mate :-)

Nice to know that you made 10 sales from 100 clicks just with 20 followers, it sounds quite interesting to me, and near had imagined that few followers can get you such a big success. I have seen people with more than 100 followers, but still, fail to make 2 sales. I must say that you have got yourself pretty genuine and loyal followers. Can you share some tips on how you decided correct keywords for your products?

For keywords you can always use trending searches option and can use the keywords everywhere tool ; which is beneficial and free tool that suggests the keywords and you can have that much sales ; if you made followers with great care and only niche based followers , they re more invested to following you and therefore you have more chances to make a sales ; anyone can try the same tips and can see similar results as well from effort and dedication to work .

Ah, i forgot to mention the e-commerce platform is Shopee (really popular in Southeast Asia) also operated on Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Poland and Spain. I am from Indonesia, and the traffic sales are from my country. So, no international sales.

As for your suggestion about sharing three post, i think i have seen it on one of my follower (she always post landscape image with many hashtags, then occasionally drop an affiliate post).

Before i make sales with Shopee, i started with another e-commerce platform which is Tokopedia. On tokopedia i got 400+ clicks but no coversion (this done a heavy blow to me, and out of desperation i signed to their biggest rival, which is Shopee)

On Shopee, i started to see the results on three weeks (as i have explained, i just randomly tweet their affiliate products) and i believe the sales are not from my followers because i use an old account and my followers are inactive. this is certainly a sales from random shopee users seeing my tweet.

I have mentioned before, the only way i can reach potential shopee users on twitter is, by utilizing the trending topics keywords (i think Indonesian people are very active users of twitter)

One of the popular selling niche is Beauty & Care, and i see its kinda working with their product reviews style posting (sadly, i'm a male so i can't copy their technique)

For the products, usually i choose the one that comes from the official shop or the one with "mall" and "star" rating shops.

I havent heard about keywords everywhere tools (i just googled and it shows its the extension tools from browser ex:chrome, mozilla) is that correct?

Lets talk about something here for instant if you chose an affiliate program on health niched then your twitter traffic must have something to do with health is that not what you mean?
If that is the case then you must surely make some good sales.

But for me am not too familair wih using twitter for promotion because sometime even if when I frop a tweet on twitter I hardly get visit or fans who follow or like the tweet,
so what I know is facebook work the most for me when its come to advertising but there are still some people who are able to make success through affiliate market on twitter before you start then ensure you enquire from old folks who has been using twitter for that purpose

Exactly what I wanted saying too. You can't post random products and expect a consistent number if buyers. You should build your market around a niche. Edit your account to look more professional; the name of your business,description and logo.

Always learn to make use of trending hashtags to create traffick. Go under tweets that people are jumping on exciting ones not social issues in order for you not to look desperate.

Also Twitter enables you to change your location. Sight countries where your products are easily affordable and needed and build networks there. When I mean networks. Get known there. An idea is to write a content about what people there will like or concerning an issue that affects everyone and then drop your products in too. More like copy writing.

There is something which I just learn now from your post I think that its really enlightening,so when using twitter one can change the location which you want your audience to come from?

If that is the case then twitter is very good in terms of marketing and others,for instant if I want my traffic to target to teir one country so I can switched my account to that region and start building my fans and audience in that location.

Its a good sign to promote your item thou I dont know much about the thesis you posted here but I beleive I will do more personal research about this.

I know that people are getting clicks to there links even with little or no followers. But now you have made me to now one of the ways to do that.

By expensive item you can also mean gold necklace, and such items cannot be sold easily, it has its own market. Whereas normal goods move in the normal market.

People buy only those things which satisfy their needs while staying within the limits of their budget.

You have to promote yourself, increase natural followers, there will be more buyers in the big market.

I also agree with you. When we buy followers from a website. The followers that joined or follow our twitter page are only following us because they are paid to do so. They are nit the ones that really wants to follow us based on the fact that they like out post. So when we make post, they will not be interested in the post as it is not there interest

Its not like that as well too if you buy from the ones that you can conform and chat with you can expect 5% to follow your posts and like them sometimes but definitely that's low engagement and for that reason it is not recommended and build a followerbase is the best solution always indeed .

I buy this followers and its work for me sometime ago and I think that when you use a reliable website to purchase the followers you can realy get real organic traffic but dont expect that its all of them that will convert.

Using twitter for most of your promotion is never that simple I will prefer you add your followers and fans yourself.

So I think that twitter is good enough to use for promotion but I dont have access to that social media handle anymore because its was restricted in my region.

@windsley , Since you have realized your mistake of not focusing on a particular niche as an affiliate marketer, I think you can start by redeeming this mistake first. But before you choose your niche, try to focus on your audience on Twitter to know what they really like discussing and buying before you start your journey on a new niche.

To me Twitter is a community where everything is brief and concise. It also favours media related niches or products more. So if what you're marketing fits into that category, then you can go ahead. If it doesn't, there are other social media communities where you can do that. Have you tried creating a landing page or blog about the product then talk about the blog on Twitter. It's a better approach than marketing it straight.

If you want to be getting result with expensive product, then you should upgrade your current method by trying to increase your the numbers of your followers. And also as you're making some money try to leverage on paid method of promoting Affliate link. You'll definitely get value for your money.
