So I need a Cheap or preferably Free web hosting ( if free then no hidden fees or ads should be in it. )

The site gets around 100 - 500 visitors per day.

My recommendation to you is 00webhost if you want cpanel and FTP access for your website. This is ideal if your looking to host a website. For a forum, prophpBB is my recommendation.

I am on hawkhost. They have 2.3$ per month. And they have the yearly and 2 year plan. So it can be really good option. You can see that the cost of the hosting per month is low. And also the support is good. I don't prefer EIG hosting sites though. Make sure you avoid EIG hosting brands. So that being said, there are many other low cost host.But be sure to read their reviews.

Its better to read the reviews and terms well in advance so that we don't face much issues later. A good yearly or 2 yearly plan is better than a cheap monthly plan as it will give you more time to innovate.

It is much better to invest in a good domain than to choose some cheap. If you use some really good domain, that will help your site grow for sure.

OPHosting looks new. I have tried AstroLoco and Xisto hosting in past. And it seems like a good option for posting. There are some of the restrictions. But those are more like post to host type of scheme. And this can surely something you'd have to find out. For something basic, you can surely make use of with OPHosting and 000webhost. I think in that case it's worth using their hosting.

I'm just diving into the online "marketing, forum, etc world" and I'm still sort of green to it all. What exactly is "web hosting"?

Webhosting is if you wanna to create a website you have to get a webhosting to host your site on (actually it's the space which you put your website files on) also you have to get a domain like .com or whatever it was (to can access the site through it, for example here XDA Developers Forum (it's for Android development) it's hosted by Leaseweb and they got their domain from TucowsDomains.

My friend tried it and said that it's not that good, also you are planning to get an SSL certificate you have to buy from them, you can use external company (Same as CloudFlare and Shovl.io) to get a certificate. If you really want a free web hosting I suggest you to go to either Viewen or Dopehosting, both are really really awesome.

I think if you want a free webhosting, there would always be some extra words attached to your site url. Maybe you should rather go for cheaper alternatives than the completely free stuff. For the suggestions, I'm not sure of any since I'm yet to try a paid hosting.
