Affiliate Marketing Traffic Sources.jpg

In this tutorial, I'll talk about the traffic sources and the definitions of how they are used in affiliate marketing. As we all know there is a giant source of traffic available to the affiliate marketer. You just need to understand these different sources and how to tap into their resources. I'll teach you about the different traffic sources that you can use. In this tutorial I'll be talking about:
  • Adult Traffic
  • Mobile Traffic
  • Search Traffic
  • Social Traffic
  • Native Ads
  • PPV Traffic
  • Mainstream Traffic
Adult Traffic: This is one of the biggest money makers out there today. Adult websites attract a lot of visitors and can generate a generous income each month. Did you realize that pornographic websites attract more visitors each month than Twitter, Amazon or even Netflix combined. Some of the best traffic generators for adult websites are ExoClick, Traffic Junky, Traffic Factory and Ero-Advertising. Some advertisers pose restrictions for advertising on adult websites. That shouldn't be a problem because there are plenty of advertisers to choose from.

Mobile Traffic: Currently mobile affiliate marketing isn't a trend and that is one reason you'll need to tap into this resource because it has become on of the fastest growing traffic sources out there today. Remember several years back how Google forced all website owners to optimize their website for mobile users. They knew that the mobile community was growing, and would soon turn into a major cash cow for website owners and advertisers. For advertising on mobile devices, you can work with Popunders, Redirects, Push Notifications, and Banner or Display Ads.

Search Traffic: When we talk about search traffic we are talking about organic traffic and paid ads or PPC. The difference between the two is simple. Organic traffic is traffic that comes to your website through different search engines. Where paid ads deal with Google Adwords or other advertising services or businesses that want to display their ads on Google. As a website owner and affiliate marketer, it is best to receive organic traffic on your website. Normally with organic traffic, you have a much higher chance of making a conversion than you do with paid ads. Don't forget that Google isn't the only search engine out there. You can easily advertise on Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yandex, Yahoo, Baidu, Gigablast and so many other search engines.

Social Traffic: Using social media ads is an excellent way to monetize your website or blog. If you consider how many people visit Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, Instagram, and Linkedin each day, you'll see the earning potential of these different social media platforms. What is fantastic about using social media traffic is the fact you can target your audience by demographics. This way your ads reach more potential people who will convert and earn you a commission.

Native Ads: This is a type of ad format that is designed to look and feel like a specific context when it is displayed. These types of ads are designed to blend in and not stand out as much as normal ads. Many website owners will use native ads in their text. You can be reading along and not even know you've read a native ad. These types of ads can generate quite a number of clicks and conversions.

PPV Traffic: This is a great way to earn money by offering pay per view traffic on your website. You'll be paid each time a website visitor sees the ad from the advertiser. This traffic source is also known as CPV or cost per view. This is a great way to earn money by displaying pop up ads with a toolbar extension.

Mainstream Traffic: When we talk about the mainstream traffic we are talking about all the traffic that has been seen by the general population. These are ads that anyone can view on your website and they are considered PG-13 advertisements. This is a great source of revenue because many people will click on these types of ads and the conversion rate is rather high.

The most common are paid, organic, and referral traffic. Paid traffic is when you pay for advertising to drive visitors to your website. Organic traffic is when people find your website through search engines or social media. Referral traffic is when someone clicks on a link to your website that is shared by someone else.
