If you had a webmaster forum like me, would you advertise on YouTube or Facebook to get new members?

This is a tough question to answer. My impulse would be Facebook advertising since it is more of a personal approach. I mean, Facebook users have that penchant for sharing items that they liked. And if ever they liked your site, there is that probability of spreading the advertisement. With Youtube, it is more of a usage although I understand that there are also users who share but not as many as in Facebook. I have a Facebook account and once in a while, I see friends posting "like contests" where they are seeking for their friends' like on the item that they post. That interaction can be cultivated for purposes of promoting a website.

Yes. I think advertising on Facebook and YouTube both works depending on your approach. I have my own page and group on Facebook and use them both in advertising our products, although I haven't tried advertising on YouTube yet. Just like what @Alexandoy had mentioned, Facebook is more of a personal approach. So basically people who are interested on what you are advertising or selling can simply send you a private message or hit a comment on your posts.

I think facebook is best place for promote or advertise site. I can freely promote my forum site in facebook groups. There are many group in facebook like "we freelance" "earn money" "writing article" etc. If I go there, and promote my forum site. I will get lost of traffic and it's totally free.

I use Facebook to advertise too, I can tell you some niches gets a high CPC, too high... but you also get dirt cheap traffic if you go for video views, while doing some testing I found that it's cheaper to reach people this way on Facebook.

I think Facebook will be a better platform to advertise your product. Normally, I don't really watch adverts on YouTube and at times I find it annoying when they crop up when I am watching a video. I usually skip it. But however when using Facebook the adverts tend to attract me and I do watch them most of the times.

Using facebook would be alot better to be able to reach alot of people.Alot of people might not get to watch the video because of low in data especially those from the third world countries where data rate is quite high and most times no light to watch and ofcourse those without good phones can't also watch.

So you consider all the above but with facebook you'll capture a lot of people because Facebook doesn't require much data,even with 4-5% battery level,one can still access his or her facebook and they might like to even save the message or link if they have limited time at that moment to click to read later.So facebook is better.

I think for this forum you'd have better success with adwords. Also on Facebook the logo alone would bring a lot of traffic through boosted post. I think YouTube video may be too pushed way for now. Considering some of the YouTube videos ads are not viewed. I think the best traffic would be adwords and fb ads mixed. if things work out then yes sure that can be good enough but otherwise it'd be too much from what I have noticed.

This is a tough question, but I know the answer. I would advertise on YouTube because there is no limit on your success and how big you can expand your audience. You can even a create viral media and become famous

for me, i would advertise it on facebook because there so many fb users than youtube users, and most of people like to scroll in facebook to view anything while in youtube they view it for movies or tutorials.

These two are the major players in the video marketing world.I have read,that in 2016 the things have changed very much of these 2 companies,as a huge part of video advertising moved from Youtube,which has been the market leader till then,to Facebook.It seems that Facebook has gained more popularity,and people prefer mostly advertising on Facebook.

For a community, i think facebook is a better place for gather people because its a community and people have good interaction. Youtube is more in entertainment

Personally , I would like to advertise in YouTube because for this type of forums You'll need active people to interact within,ask&answer questions , give suggestions ,and who are intersted in this niche...etc . And to get those people the best way is Youtube .

I think advertising on YouTube is best as most of people don't have YouTube premium so they have to watch ads compulsorily and your ad can leave a drastic impact in ones mind!

Based on my own point of view , I will prefer to advertise on Facebook than YouTube because Facebook has larger audience and most people uses ad blocker in videos .

Facebook advertising! I hardly watch ads on YouTube but even search for them on facebook. I think Facebook has more of a targeted audience than YouTube IMO.

I prefer advertising on Facebook.Easy and cheap accessibility is what people want.Many people can easily access Facebook.Youtube is much expensive compared to Facebook .So one should target where there are a lot of active users.

YouTube is one of the most used media by all age groups,so putting a ad on it will be more effective according to me!

You are right mate,but YouTube has users of all age groups access and thus the age group targeting you are looking for will be easy there!

NowI always love using youtube for promotion its the best alternative to facebook,thou there is nothing wrong with using facebook as its also pays,but sometime youtube come first because of the numbers of people that visit the site on daily basis
