Follow Along Adult Tube Website - starting point 7th of August

Following Mr.B's tutorial, I took it upon myself to try it out. I'm currently at the "posting videos" step of the tutorial. Since it's my first try at this, I went into this without expecting anything from it revenue-wise but rather for the experience.

It's essentially a wordpress site for adult content targeted for a niche pornographic non-existing category (videos of this type are scattered) with embedded videos off of the many bigger tube sites like PornHub, etc.

The initial start-up cost me $58.30. It's going to take $22.90/month for a year starting from about now.

The .com domain was registered on 7th of August using GoDaddy and it cost me $0.99+$10. I went ahead and bought a few other domains accociated with the .com domain and similar, also for a year, and those cost me $24.41 altogether (probably a dumb move for a beginner, but then again...).

Hosting service provided by HostGator's "Hatchling Plan" in the same day for a month to begin with, costing me $10.95 (it shows $3.95, yes, but only if one bought the hosting service for 36 months, so that would have costed me $142.30, otherwise for just one month it was and perhaps still is $10.95).

I also got myself a TubeAce theme and since I couldn't find a better theme at the time, I bought its plugin for $11.95/month that allows me to easily embed the videos I want from various big adult content sites like PornHub, etc - I wouldn't know how else to embed them like that otherwise.

I had my first (10) organic visitors now on the 7th day since I registered it, with bounce rate of 88% - TubeAce's integrated video player directs the viewers to the original site as soon as they try to go full screen or click on the video itself, it's not good, I know... perhaps a pop-under there at some point?

It was about yesterday (13th) I got the website functional - the W3 Total Cache plugin had been giving visitors and bots the 500 internal error without me knowing about it for the first 6 days. I've been using WP Fastest Cache plugin as the alternative now. All my efforts trying to troubleshoot the problem with w3 had failed.

I'm likely not going to add much of any backlinks nor promote it through social media, at least right now I don't plan to. I'll be relying on google search only and see what happens. It's mostly because I'm not sure how to gain traffic viably anyhow else right now. Backlinks sound awfully scammy for a tube site... And no, I'm not going to get naked for this myself as to make it not scammy.

Posts take time to adjust, the SEO score by YOAST on those posts are all red - I won't be adding any description to them, just the title, slug and long-tail keywords, and the tags I won't be changing from what they are by default when imported/ripped from the original sites.

Now, oddly enough, the best niche within this category niche has to do with "gay" in it. Who would have thought?

I would reveal more information about it, much more, but I'm starting to believe in this, and maybe get a few bucks later down the road with this rather than just the experience I aimed for at the beginning. Though, if I later feel like there's not much experience to be had anymore and the money is too far away, I'll probably let it free and perhaps get your thoughts on what went wrong. Perhaps it was the niche itself, perhaps me not trying hard enough, etc. But till then, I guess I'll update this post for whoever is interested. My interest here has to do with 2 things, BMF Coins and the feedback. I don't mind criticism.

Glad to see a guy with balls, quite big if I may say so. :D

Couple things here I want to address, regarding the host, yeah that's how it works, they say it's extremely cheap but you need to buy several years up front to benefit that. 11$ per month for a host, it's ok, you can also put other sites there so it worth. ;)

Premium theme, I love it, you wanna stand out, this will help you, a bit pricey, YES! But if you haven't found other cheaper alternatives and you weren't satisfied at all with free adult themes I guess you forced to go like a pro. Well done!

$23 per month for covering maintenance is ok, you can make that much simply being active on BeerMoneyForum.com and what else is you make from your TUBE site will be pure profit.

Yes, gay niche and pervert niche is successful in the adult industry, you have made a good choice. Well done! I'm impressed, seems you really made your research before starting this project.

Buying other domain extensions I believe was a bad choice, unless your main .com domain was very very good, anyway, you learn from your own mistakes, I did that too. BTW you can still try to sell them on Flippa or webmaster forums later on. You never know! If you started this journey before buying the domain I could advise you better and also you had 24 hours after you buy a domain to cancel it, you need to call support Godaddy and they will cancel and give money back, I did this last year. :Roflmao:

Yes W3 total cache plugin can crash your site, happened that to me before, and my site had like 300ish people online at that very moment, luckily couple members message me on Facebook and I got the problem solved, at that date, I decided to buy a premium cache plugin called Wp-rocket, anyways it was a good plugin but not much impressed and when license expired I decided to stick with Wp-super cache and use even today on many sites. I recommend trying this one as well and see if you have better loading speeds. Use this site to check loading speeds https://gtmetrix.com/. Very good tool for webmasters!

Yep, you will need popunder to monetize exit traffic.

BIG PROBLEM with on-page SEO, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, you play with fire here, I highly suggest spending more time, make that description unique, put 8-10 long tail keywords(LSI) for each post and for the love of God start building adult backlinks from day one. Here's how SEO works, many people believe just focus on content and after that buy some backlinks and pray to rank, not gonna happen and if it will you won't last on SERPs. You have to do backlinks every day: you can achieve 1-5 backlinks by sharing your links on adult forums(these are huge dumps of links WITH https://www.beermoneyforum.com/), FIND THEM AND SHARE Your links, if you manage to build even 1-2 links per day you will notice higher rankings in next 3 months, yep rankings take time, you will not see results on the next day.

Listen if you don't build backlinks you will most likely fail with this adult journey, for ranking you need content and backlinks, without them you not gonna rank. Do you want to prove me wrong? Do it! Your time, not mine! :Roflmao:

TIP: create social accounts/pages where is allowed to share adult links, use some fake bots to speed up your followers and after that follow/unfollow manually or grab a bot that does this. You will see traffic from social sites coming and will help you earn even more and likes will help you rank since these are considered social signals{this is a ranking factor}.

I'm here to help and will always share the best I know if you just ask. Don't forget to update us even daily if you can. Just say today I posted 20 videos, got couple visitors, earned 20 cents. Never share your niche, many people will copy your site and this means another competitor for you.:D

Forgot to say submit your site to search engines.

Thanks for sharing. I dont know what else to say apart from I find it very interesting to know..

@Mr. B - Thanks for the tips. I'll see what I can do about those backlinks and perhaps look into the integration of social networks.

Currently I'm trying to figure out the on-page stuff still. I suppose this looks somewhat bad. Not my proudest fap* - fits nicely, only that it's not the niche I'm dealing with myself in any way, or am I? I simply can't figure out how to "hide" the description from showing as part of the content in my website. For now, I've just left it blank. I've read somewhere that the description/meta description doesn't play a role in ranking but rather helps in attracting visitors directly. That makes it easy for the confirmation bias to kick in. In a way, the description could be in the way even. I'll let google deal with it, that way I don't have to deal with it on my page, I guess. A poor workaround, but will have to do for now.

You mentioned keywords. 8-10-word long keywords is streching it a little too much, no?
... make that description unique, put 8-10 long tail keywords(LSI) for each post and for the love of God start building adult backlinks from day one.
Mine are around 4 words each -practical and catchy while trying to hit the mark- sometimes shorter, sometimes longer, and of course, each post has them.

Forgot to say submit your site to search engines.
When it comes to indexing, sitemaps, etc, I think I submitted what I could already at the very beginning. It was how I discovered the 500 internal error.

There are actually many more on-page things I'd like to adjust but simply cannot - I'd need to start coding, but that's something I've never dealt with and will likely not deal here with either. Spending my time looking for workarounds most of the time. It's difficult to settle with something I know is probably sh*t.

Never rely on some analysis made by a plugin, I never do that, on-page SEO should be done without over thinking and over optimization.

Try to find more LSI keywords and save them on a file, after that use 4 unique and add couple general keywords to make 8-10 in total for each post.

Meta description is that piece of content that shows up on search results page, if you don't provide that in your SEO plugin Google will try to extract 160 characters from your post, so you still need unique content on every post for BEST RESULTS.

I too hate coding and I don't have the time to learn it, I always search for a plugin to do that and move on with things I like doing it.

Let me know if you need help with something else.

Nearing to an end of another day, not much got done. Or should I say that a lot got done today? Just to keep the hopes high...

Few new posts (without description), developed a set of keywords to bind the theme of the niche together more, no backlinks yet, more information gathering about those options and whatnot, but that's about it. My newly created attempt at getting noticed through social media got blocked within the first 2 minutes. I'm not sure what I was thinking there. Bold and careless move that was... I guess I need to do some in-depth reading about SEO-ing, perhaps I'll find something more to my taste (just picture some old juice machines in a row as options or ways, some of which I don't yet know are there, to attract visitors/rank website with).

As for visitors, just 4 organic ones with a bounce rate of 66%.

I'm starting to see the site from a potential visitor's perspective. So far, I only aimed for a... um... sexually interested individual to look for something specific and land on my page to satisfy their... um... desires that way. The site doesn't have a brand nor a logo nor a presence of any kind. I'm hoping it would grow one by itself just with associations. It has the foundation for that to happen at least, I just need to plant more seeds (content). It's pretty cloudy around here when it comes to SERP...

@ThulfWaatu Don't care too much about bounce rate at this time, you have little to no data to analyze.

My advice grab a piece of paper and focus on posting a certain number of videos every day, couple backlinks every day, create a Twitter account because they allow sharing p0rn links there and also try to boost it with followers. See you tomorrow!

Thanks. I love this idea to earn good amount of dollars. It's legitimate and working and accepted whole around world.

12th day, organic searches slowly on the rise.

Nothing much to report on, really. Had 25 visitors (opposed to 5 visitors on 16th) with 50% bounce rate yesterday (17th). Been adding some videos. Got blocked from Twitter, and they haven't sent the confirmation code for some reason in order to confirm my identity/legitimacy.

I don't feel like messing with no-follow links from social media - that's like an extra front to maintain, the blockage won't be the last of problems on that front, I'm sure. I'll probably try it out at a bit later time, ofc.

And backlinks... still trying to figure them out. I don't want to get penalized or discarded because I made shit ones. Just a relevant random link to my website in a comment section of another relevant section of a relevant website, is that pretty much it? Not sure how on-page links should look like either... All the backlink tutorials talk about is what sites to use for backlinks, what kind of a backlink is better and what is worse, and stuff like that. What a backlink itself is in google search gives me a super vague description that only leads to blogs going long and wide what is a good link and what is bad, etc... Getting frustrated with reading the same old same old when I actually searched for something else. Perhaps it's my lack of understanding or something. It can't be just a random (relevant, common sense) link, can it? Just an invisible network thread of sorts?

Roughly 3 visits per day. Not much happening with the site.

I've been adding more videos according to plan. Still hesitant when it comes to backlinks. I'll hopefully submit some somewhere sometime.

I thought of showing this graph that displays page views on my site for any newbie like me wondering how might the traffic look like if they tried to run one with no prior experience. (You'll probably do much better than I do)

The huge surge on 11th was from me trying to troubleshoot the internal error 500 that I had. Starting from 13th, I never checked the site myself without the admin overlay. Although I'm not happy with the progress specifically, mainly because I know I could do more for it to be better, overll, I'm satisfied - at least it's having some taffic, so that's a positive. I've selectively read blogs about their (bloggers') traffic, and in such comparison, I've managed to convince myself it's not all that bad on my end. If I had 20 views and something like 6 unique visitors a day for a month, it would be something, and the thing is, I think, it can only go up from here as long as I don't https://www.beermoneyforum.com/ something up as a newbie should and get my site penalized for good or something, hacked or something.

My aim is to get at least 50 uniques a day (too much?) and then start adding monetization to it. Until then, I'll keep adding content and squeeze a few backlinks somewhere for a start by the end of the month.

50 UV per day, not much at all, you'll have 50uv per hour and even 50uv per minute.
The problem is you need more time and do more work, how many videos you have embedded so far? Have you posted 200+?

50 sounds a lot to me, I'd consider it a milestone either way. So far, I've got 98 embedded videos.

I had over 100 videos listed very early on (I used mass import tool), I then spent all the time dedicated to dealing with the website on changing the information on each post that was imported, ended up deleting 1/3 of imported media at the end. The mass import was from pornhub, that site is now sucked dry from the content I needed. Having gone through other similar sites, I'm seeing a lot of duplicate content under different names and pictures, so it's like an extra hazzle. But then again, having dealt with them, I'm starting to see the patterns and distinguish the original ones from the re-uploads.

When you said 50 uniques a minute, my progress so far in comparison is seemingly close to zero. I don't think the niche has that many people looking for it to get that many a minute on a steady pace. A google tool (can't remember the name) gave the keywords surrounding the niche something between 1mil and 10mil searches (I suppose) a month. Though I did add quite a few keywords in the mix to pull that data...

I'm getting offers from hosting providers that I checked out before landing on HostGator's at the start of this journey. The best comes from eHost. They are now offering a 70% discount (they started with 30% a week ago). I'm tempted to change the host just because of that, though I'm not sure how it might affect the website... Might be something I wanna try out regardless just to add to the portion of experience gained from this journey. It's otherwise $14 a month at eHost and $11 a month at HostGator.

The offer in general terms.

They allow adult content too.
https://i.gyazo.com/d0c0d267be501ed7e700c081faa91af3.png

https://www.ehost.com/features (it says unlimited domains... does that mean I can use those extra domains I bought with no further expenses after this within the year?)
What do you think? As I've read now, the money won't be coming in as soon as I had expected, more like in few months of time that I might be getting any money at all. Having to look months ahead, this new plan is much lighter for my wallet, and the reputation of eHost doesn't seem worse than that of HostGator's.

It's a dilemma. Changing hosts, I think, would be a lot of extra hazzle, maybe to a point where I'd have to shut down or something. Staying with the current plan would cost me around 60% more money (more than 80% more money per month).

Building a site takes time, acquiring 12 months upfront is and will always be a good move to save some cash.
My advice, dig deeper, there might be another host even cheaper. After that go for one-year hosting plan and make sure you can host multiple sites. You will try couple more blogs, not adult... maybe gaming niche... maybe tutorials... IDK, your choice!

I think I'll go with eHost then (other options weren't as good). They offered for 24 and 36 months also, and for even cheaper, but my way of thinking is that if I'm not successful by the end of that year, I don't think I ever will be, and if I am successful even just to the point of only covering the expenses, I wouldn't mind paying the standard prices anyway. Who knows, maybe they'll offer me another deal at the end of that year when I mention leaving them for some1 elses offer, etc.

Something I remembered, there was a money-back guarantee from HostGator... I might be able to take advantage of that while going over to eHost (I looked it up, it seems I'm eligble for that, unless there's somewhere written in tiny letters that it doesn't work when changing the host service provider). Sounds like a good deal to me.

Woah. The transferring of the website was a lot of frustration (I get frustrated if I fail to understand things at their core), but I'm glad I got it resolved in the sense that I understand it now to a point where I can initiate it again if I had to. Now I just have to wait, pretty much, and hope processes don't fail me on the way.

During the moments of frustration, I was considering starting from scratch with a completely new theme. the current theme, which costs me $11 each month, pretty much forces me to use it ever after, because if I stopped, I would lose all the embedded videos, and I don't like such a relationship... I guess I'll stay with it regardless. There's a reason why I chose this in the first place after all (others were too lackluster or required coding expertise or simply cost more).
