Exactly the sum corresponding to 964 Million $, was located at an address that could be associated with the former Silk Road darknet market, which has been closed since 2013. The wallet has been considered "dormant" since 2015, as the owner has not since any movement performed.
Anyway this high sum in Bitcoin was once subject to attacks by various hackers and for this reason, the possibilities for moving bitcoins are only two:
The first is that the anonymous owner has finally decided to take back the sum.
The second, and perhaps more likely, is that some hacker managed to carry out the virtual robbery.

There's just too much hacking this days. Is it that there's too much laxity on exchange platforms now or hackers have magical ways of bypassing this mesures that are put in place. The should be better ways now

Indeed, this has been proven.
But I wonder, who could have left a sum of about 1 million dollars in storage?
Really strange case!

Lol, the huge amount that is involved in hacks like this leave room for more questions. The first question is how such amount was stored and for what use to. More security is needed anyway

I wonder why such amount is been placed on a dormant wallet and i hope those hackers will no still carry out another robbery , this is really not good at all

damn that's a lot of money that's gone into the waste, i hope they manage to catch those hackers, so less damage can affect people around the world, making money isn't easy

If they do more investigation they could still track the hackers , i just hope the hackers havent transfer the fund to another site without kyc data and withdraw

Anyway, there is also an explanation that it is not theft. But the owner of such a large sum could also have withdrawn it. However this is always the way much less likely! Indeed...who could really believe this?

Exactly making money is not easy and we all know this!
But resorting to robberies, including whatever illegal activity that takes passive income, is a criminal act!

Well , I think the person who moved this huge amount of Bitcoin did it for a purpose and if it is for safety purpose then it is a wise choice

Indeed, this is the samething that I hope. And above all, I would be sorry if this sum was then stolen from this person. Also because I don't think he /she will ever get compensation.

am i the only one here wondering how whoever that moved the funds is actually gonna use it without being noticed? i mean it's a huge sum of money and even 0.1% of it is still 960 grand even if they move like 100k each month which would take forever to turn it all into cash first of all somehow you're gonna have to hide your trace and secondly getting 100k or something every month would still look very suspicious

I won't call it hacking because back then nobody knew Bitcoin would rise like this. Alot of people have lost their seeds and wallet cos they never believed the network was real.
But on the other hand, it could be a hackers activities on the system

Well, actually this would be a problem for anyone.
But from the moment that there are used cryptocurrencies, I believe, they cannot easily be traced, in my opinion.

Of course there is hardly any compensation given to one who is scammed except when the wallet itself was hacked . this is why he needs to protect his investment

Indeed. You see. There are countless people in the world unfortunately cheated! Consequently, there would not be a sum that could be compensated for everyone.

Of course and moreover no one will easily give out his cryptocurrency asset as a compensation to another person , except when there is a just reason .

Indeed. As if to say, the sight of a judge.
