A new study found out that 96% of US iOS users decided to opt out from tracking. This finding is not really surprising considering that no one like to get tracked, and their data sold to advertisers. Just recently, Apple decided to add a new feature called 'App Tracking Transparency' that enables users to opt out of tracking if they want. This move got criticized by the likes of Facebook due to their advertising business model is to steal users' data.

That is very good and we just have to do robust sensitization on the consumer right to have full control as to whether they want to give out their data for marketing purposes or any other purposes by these tech giants. We hope people elsewhere would continue to protect consumer rights and be alive that consumer rights are of top priority.

It is beginning to become very interesting that people are now becoming very aware of the implications of sharing their data online. I am really waiting to see how the big technological companies are going to react and I am sure that paid subscription models are going to be the next thing to be rolling out.

That actually makes sense because as humans the one thing that is very important to us if the privacy that we have and therefore if we are using something we do not want everyone to know where and how we are using it and that is why people are opting out.

The world is growing at a very fast pace right now and people are beginning to care about their online privacy which is a good thing. It is also important to note that this social media platforms actually need these data sharing so that they can be able to generate revenue and keep the platform going.
