Frances Haugen, a data scientist employed by Facebook since 2019 has come forward and revealed to the world how one of the biggest social media in the world manage its priorities. In the leak, Frances revealed how Facebook ignored bad contents that can harm children and weaken democracy all over the globe. In the report, she says that bad content also helps Facebook to make money, and if the company take a strict stance about it, then they will also lose revenue. Some examples of bad contents that can be commonly found on the platform including, spam, scam, propaganda, adult content, fake news, and more.

Well one of the secretary of the media department today was summoned against to provide clear information on how they are doing to provide users with safety after latest glitch

Personally, I haven't come across most of the things you mentioned on Facebook, but then, it could be because I'm not a chronic user. But trust me, Facebook is trying when it comes to regulations of contents

I've not seen such content, but its probably because they are not part of my interests and Facebook shows you things related to what you like on your feed.

I am aware that Facebook never embark on filtering bad contents. This is a very bad situation as it could heat up the polity. Facebook should put up measures to check bad content.

I'm sorry, but if Facebook is a social media I think that are users who can spread fake news.
Maybe the problem is the lack of control, because Facebook lacks by own moderators (from what I understand), if not only the individual administrators of the various groups, made up of ordinary people, who can decide to manage their own regulation but with their own criteria, which could vary from others.

Hmm, I understand that Facebook can't eliminate all the bad contents in their platform. People will still spam the forum with illicit information.

Well Crypto Content Usually Does Not Converts On Facebook But Rather YouTube Is Better Choice When Actually Spending Money Because You Get Real People ...

I doubt that, with the way they are shadow banning account irrespective of your location or hidings, let's say in the past but now they are quite active.

I have never heard a thing like shadowban in terms of Facebook that thing is related to Facebook to be honest actually and will never be related to Facebook

Yes, first of all, they don't moderate the environment and the consequences are obvious. In the past, I caught 2 of my nephews, respectively 11 and 9 years old, stating they were 31 and 21. Probably, my nephews didn't want to lie, but they randomly choose an age that appeared in the form in order to complete their signing up. And there was no moderation, as there clearly appeared as childrens (my nephews uploaded their own photos and it was clear they were just children of their true age). In any way, another topic here in the forum says the Australian Facebook is taking measures against such deplorable happenings: users' age must be proved and the proof will be compulsory.

in fact, as in many sites, especially those of online betting, the age must be proven through a valid identity document.

I think the users are to be more careful. Facebook is a platform where anybody can just post as he wishes. If the post is not obscene, I think it is not Facebook business to be determining whether a website is real or fake.

You know my friend, the first fake-news where I came across, I read them just on Facebook!
There the people speak freely, sometimes in the right way, but unfortunately often also wrongly!

This is very true that facebook has some glitches on child protection rights.

In the background there is so much ilicit activities that are not family and child friendly.I think facebook has to put a parental or guardian control feature to help and protect kids.

Indeed my friend. In this regard, would you also agree with the activation of a parental control on Facebook?
Or perhaps better, to be sure that every user is of age, it should be required a valid identity document during the registration process?
Thank you.

all fakebook cares about is fakebook & their profits. they could be doing a lot more to police the platform but they choose no to. one of the reasons they choose not to police their platform is the cost. which cuts into their profit margins. fakebook was designed yrs ago to make it addicting for its users. dont believe me ??¿ the same shrinks who helped design fakebook, have come out & admitted the same. because now the shrinks have seen the damage fakebook causes. fakebook can be good in certain ways. but it also can be very damaging to everybody, young & old.

im also not an avid fakebook fan. i opened an account mainly to make some groups, to try to earn money. i hate to admit it, fakebook is probably the best place to earn money at the moment. the market place there reaches a huge audience. keep in touch with some old friends, also. besides that, i avoid it at all costs.
