Few years ago Thomas Dluca, Louis Gatto, and Eric Pinkston ran a Crypto doubling scheme that promised Investors they could turn $100 to $80,000 monthly. Unfortunately 8000 people fell for this cheap scam that made them lost huge amount of dollars. The scheme was shutdown March 2018.
The federal trade commission has begin to refunds to victims through PayPal. The commission is making refunds to 7964 victims to a tune of $470,000 which began Nov. 5.
What's your opinion on this development?.

I think those people deserve this how can you expect $100 to turn to $80000 and i guess a lot of people would have invested out of just greed

It is greed and I guess the government through the regulator was able to recover some money from them which they are using to.pay back the victims.

But where those people caught and how were they able to get back the cash , because those people deserved to be well prosecuted ,since that might be some peoole savings

Wow this is applaudable . Imagine the type of joy these person will have receiving money that they taught is gone forever and in a good time like now when there is sign of inflation

It's a good news for the people that participated in Ponzi scheme if only all fund taken from people who participated in every Ponzi scheme could be refund the same way this was, I could recover a great deal of money.

First of all I can ask myself, who could naively believe how it was possible to transform just $ 100 into $ 80,000 / month !!
Anyway, for those people who suffered this scam, I agree to a possible refund.
However, let's not forget that even every person who opts into HYIP sites, (or even with others) runs a high risk of losing money in scams!

It's a good news for the people that participated in Ponzi scheme if only all fund taken from people who participated in every Ponzi scheme could be refund the same way this was, I could recover a great deal of money.

I doubt if they will learn their lesson because they will take this opportunity has a new way to invest more on Ponzi scheme or other hyip site. Everybody just want to make fast money

I see, everyone wants! But it is demonstrable that everything and immediately, it is not possible to have!
Despite everything, many continue to not understand! So I don't rule out your hypothesis at all.

If they invest that money in ponzi scheme again the government won't bother to help again they will sort out themselves ,since they learn from their mistake

Indeed the aspect of refunding the money makes the whole thing to be commendable . Most times some of these authority after shutting the program , stills back the scammers stolen funds

I think the authorities that are the real scammers and takes part in embezzlement won't even bother about the issue of stolen funds and others

The victims of the scam are not only greedy but also very lucky that they get a refund and hopefully also have learnt a lesson not to make themselves easy prey for scammers because of their greed. People should learn that gambling will always lead to losses
