Around $1 billion worth of bitcoins were transferred from a Xapo wallet to two different addresses and the total fee was only $3.54. Around 88,856 ($1.1 billion) bitcoins left a Xapo wallet to another wallet address. These types of huge bitcoin transactions are so common but I'm surprised to see how low the transaction fee is!

I am also suprise about the transaction fee when someone cant even send $8 worth of btc without charging up to $2 the fees are just too high

if the transaction fees are that low, i'm just wondering how those platforms are making money then , i'm sure there are billions of transactions daily

I am also suprise too because in some trading site i have been using before i can transfer btc the transaction fee discourages me , so i convert to a smaller coin and send the crypto

I think the transaction came when there is little or no congested transaction on Bitcoin network . The sender must be very lucky as well to experience this type of low transaction fee

I wonder what would have happened. I guess it should have been a glitch in the system which cannot be reversed.

Anyway the person or company who transferred this large amount was lucky enough to get through without paying hardly any fees.

It is not any glitch but was lucky to have sent the funds when blockchain network was less busy that's just the simple answer, I recall someone paid more for gas fee than the amount he wanted to sell.

Yeah. There was a metamask user who paid $9500 in gas fee for a transaction of less than $300 , though part of the cause was from him as he made a mistake in his input .

Yeah. He actually place the huge amount as gas fee instead of gas limit and this made him lose the money , considering that higher gas .

Extra caution needs to be taken especially now that the value of most coins are on the rise , $1 is not small amount now especially if you worked hard to earn it.

I'm also always very shocked about fees like this and it left me wondering if it about the people involved or the higher the amount the lowe the fees

Actually fees is a function of network congestion. It can be less than 0.5$ at a time and up to 9$ at another time , it does not depend on amount of money been sent out

Oh really never understood it that way by congestion are you referring to the number of people exchanging their coin at the particular time of the day?

Okay thanks then this is why I like forum posting we learn new things daily.msybe one will try to withdrawal when the network has a lot of people withdrawing?
No. Withdrawing at such period will result to high fee and delay in processing transaction of those that their gas fee is low. The best is to withdraw when the network is a bit free
