A person made a mistake sending 800 BNB ($ 20,000) in BNB and begged Binance to help him, this transaction was made on Binance Smart Chain. In response on September 12 the CEO of Binance asked the community if they think he should help this person, he was considering helping him.
This person alleges that the exchanger is responsible for being the developer of this new chain.
This reopens the debate on such a complicated topic, reverse crypto.
Is it worth helping the person who has made a mistake or is it necessary to establish that the code is absolute law and it doesn't matter what happens to the users?

Unfortunately, things like this are a risk you take when using crypto these days. In this situation, Binance could help for good publicity but they have no obligation to do so. This makes me think that there is a need for a change in the user interface to prevent mistakes like this. I am not sure what that would entail though. Another option is to use a system similar to bitcoins lightning network (in development) to not update transaction on the blockchain immediately. Mistakes like this happen with Fiat currency as well. User error will always happen but there are some steps that can be taken to minimize it.
It is true, despite the fact that transactions on the blockchain are an irreversible process, exchange platforms can implement certain actions that reduce this type of errors, such as confirming the transaction you want to make several times.

You are very right in your submission. There should be a way for these errors to be minimized even if not eradicated completely. The lightning network is an excellent idea.

It's true, it's the person's fault for not being careful when sending such an amount of money. If I am going to send that amount of money, I check the shipping addresses several times to confirm that everything is correct.

damn, that's a huge mistake, i hope the community helps him, because that's seriously a lot of money, i hope binance helps too and not only ask other people to help
This here needs help because the money here is huge. There should compensate him and others that can help should do same

If BNB can give him back 50% of the transaction that will really mean alot.
I never knew crypto transaction are inrivasable but if it is inrivasable then the community should donate to him

It depends on the exchange site you are using if they exchange site sends or reverse it since they verify before sending the payment to receive adress then you are lucky , while someone issues a warning beford even sending the payment

I think that big amount is still very big. to be honest from this case, I was afraid to make online transactions. because once lost, it is impossible to return

Yeah the amount is big and i wonder what the person was thinking to have lost so much money like that , but it would be good if they can at least help him

this is a pretty complicated topic since i'd normally say that if a transaction is made it should be irreversible since it's crypto currency but i'm just imagining myself in this guys shoes right now and i definitely wouldn't want to loose 20k just like that... so does anyone know if he got his bnb back or not?

Since the community have offered to help the guy he might not get everything but some percentage ,because atleast they try to give him something

Where is this 800 BNB sent? And as far as my knowledge, Cryptocurrency transactions really cannot be recovered. if there is an error in the code or something with the code then binance is wrong but if this is really a human mistake then the person is wrong here
Its the person that make the mistake so its not binance fault but the person fault , he should have crosschecked before sending the money

if i was going to send 20k worth of bnb or 20k worth of anything i'd probably spend a whole day checking every individual letter and number and writing it down and everything lol

Yeah maximum verification is needed not because of anything but because of the kind of money i want to send , i might even screenshot it again to confirm

Yeah! I realize that no one is beyond mistakes but in a scenario such as this, with such a huge amount involved, I would probably check several times too before concluding the transaction.

just to be honest, i am not the money can be retrieved. In today's digital world, a single mistake in typing can cause tremendous loss. sad, but it is a bittertruth fact

It might not be retrieved but they offer some help to the person and this would serve as a lesson to everyone not to make such mistakes

I am sure that unfortunately , this person is not the only one to have lost a cash capital through the crypto deal.
However, if something could be done for help him and the others in such circumstance, my opinion is certainly favorable.

I am not sure if the CEO has even done anything to the guy, those who are active on Binance could track this update to enable us k know the latest about it.

because in the past I also lost 0.1 bitcoin a few years ago when bitcoin was not as high as now. since then I have been increasingly careful about online transactions. I earned bitcoins after a few months playing the faucet and so on
