You need articles and backlinks to receive traffic from search engines. Also sharing on facebook, twitter helps.

Since it'll be a start, just manually promote it. Like social media, forums, twitter or with friends.

If your site has a great niche, you'll just have to kick it and just watch the traffic.
Other thing is to buy cheap SEO packages with high reviews and rating people.

Note: Don't get greedy from the start and put any kind of ads. It'll just ruin your traffic.
Slow and steady, play smart.

Being a new site, you need to have good and captivating contents in place then promote it on forums and other social media platforms. You could also use free traffic sources.

You need to submit your website, forum or blog to Google and Bing. Once you have done that, you then need to consider promoting your website. You can promote your site in a variety ways to gain more traffic. I would recommend promoting on promotional forums, such as Forum Promotion. You post on the forum and you get forum currency and then you can spend it on services like Reviews for your website, and Packages (post-packages, you get more posts for your blog or forum). Concluding, promote on promotional forums and this will really help with boosting the activity of your new website. Good luck with the advertising!

ForumPromotion is good for forum owners, do you have a forum? They have a team of posters and if you buy a posting package they will post on your forum. Unfortunately, you can order like once a month and posting packages are not that big.

I think social media traffic at first can be a good start. You can build on such sites and then take this ahead. I am sure you can build enough subscribers from social media. Then you can go for the guest posting. And that way you can have some leads for your content. I have seen people trying these options and for them it works out. I am not sure though if you can find traffic through pure writing.

For getting the first visitors I would recommend you to just share your website on social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter. It can be a good start even if you do not have many followers/likes.You do not want people who just come visit your website and get out immediately. You need some quality content to keep them entertained and make them communicate with you.

In addition to social media promotion especially on facebook. Try to create an FB group for your blog and invite people to join your group. And habe it interactive and make a post that will drive them to your site/blog.

I also support the opinions or advices provided by earlier posters here, you just have to be patient to get the real traffic. Manual sources for traffic could be difficult but the best to get original traffic.

This is an old question but the topic about traffic generation is evergreen. You can share your blog posts with your friends through E-Mails and Social profiles. But before sharing the new webmasters or bloggers must add your blog in Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster tools. Adding the blog includes sitemap (HTML & XML) submission. Once you fetch the post you can share it on your social channels. Make sure your website has a Facebook page, Twitter profile and LinkedIn profile.

You should have a strong social support in fb with many friends an d follower on social media to do this !!
You can do or take help of traffic exchange or advertise your site on faucets,ptc,gpt etc ;
You should use Easyhits4u and
Mytrafficadbar for free traffic!!
You should also use your youtube channel to promote your site even more ,in prescription or link yout site with youtube,dailymotion etc

You should also use SEO tools to display your site or site results first on google ;Like and thankx!!.

I got my first traffic through social media. I just shared the link to my new blog and I was able to get traffic in few hours.

I used Facebook and twitter.

the traffic won't just come by itself, you have to promote it permanently as the beginning is the toughest step.. if it was so easy, all the blogs would've been visited by millions of users daily
