Hello?
I would like to ask for some advice about this problem.
Recently I've been quit involved in browser mining stuff but since the day I started it, everything on my computer changed. My PC started making some small noise and my internet data bundle started perishing in a way that I don't understand. Now as I'm typing this, BMF and google are the only sites which are open on my chrome browser but in only 21 minutes of surfing, My modem shows me that I have already used 91 megabites (Mb) and my PC is making some noise. So I think this might be a hidden stuff which installed on my PC. And this happens only after opening my chrome browser even if I don't start surfing a site, only the fact that my browser is open the data bundle starts being consumed very fast. If anyone knows how I could perhaps deal with this without having to format my computer, I would be glad because here the local internet charges a quite very high where 1GB costs approximately $2. Thanks

i guess you definitely have an app working in background that is using up your data my advise would be whenever you use ur chrome browser try an check you task manager to see what is using up ur data and then force stop it, and if you can't figure that out then you can quote me to provide other options for you.

Nice tip, i also notice over consumption of data too but with this advise i have learnt and i hope i can force stop the app on my mobile phone chrome browser too?

i don't know about the mobile but i've had that issue before, and that was how i fixed it, i guess u should check your running apps on your mobile too.

Before the live tiles was responsible for background consumption, but after realizing that I disabled them but the consumption of my internet bundle decreased a little bit. When I check my task manager, it only shows me the normal stuff like an open web browser and some windows processes which keep the pc running. Till now the problem remains unsolved. As a matter of fact, I am now using my old trash pc for my online activities, leaving my recent pc for offline works.

also you can use a metered connection for your wifi, you can do that by clicking on the "new notification" icon on your taskbar, then right click on on the wifi signal and then select the "go to settings option" click on the advanced option button and then switch on the metered connection option, im sure u would notice a significant change in the data drainage which i think it is caused by windows update download.

I don't have that new notification icon nor the metered connection option. And the data drainage has nothing to do with windows update because I disabled that.

do you use a windows 10 pc?, if yes then you should definitely have the new notification icon, if no, then you should opt for a browser that consumes little data like uc browser. also if you don't use Windows 10 then u should post the type of windows you use so i can direct you accordingly.

I use windows 8.1

that should be easy, if you connect to the Internet using a WiFi connection, you can click on the wifi icon on the taskbar, then right-click on the WiFi you are using you should see the "set as metered connection" option then click on it, that should do the trick.
