❓ASK How legal is Bitcoin and Crypto Currencies?

China only temporary restricted but it did not put a ban on Bitcoin, that restriction was just to check if Bitcoin is Japan's trick because Satoshi Nakamoto resembles Japanese name. However Bitcoin miners are moving to India and Canada for safer mining.

yea, and the reason is quite simple: why would you stay in China where they restrict it (even temporary)? you never know, they might as well make that restriction permanent and then you'll have to move anyways

I am optimistic that china will always retrieve it temporary ban cos the currency or coin is getting famous on daily basis despite the fluctuation prices

China is using cryptocurrency business, there are many currencies coming and it may force China to stop any ban. By the way Indian Govt has started Income Tax over bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Honestly many governments are making it illegal. And there seems to be a lot of governemnts doing action. but honestly antother part is lot of people are making money. and more foreigns currency is coming so government don't care too.

As long as it could ease a nation from rags to richness, government will gradually had it under control for the own country benefits. When a country that have so much natural resources and yet still so poor in development and GDP comparing to other country. The citizen that could slowly progressing with something new and fresh, it also making the country less dreadful of petty crime due to poverty.

Why would a country stop fortune flowing in while it is the fortune that can't be stop at all?! When a GIFT OF FORTUNE coming to look for you, it would be INSANE to try fight it with all your might when you are considerably poor in health and wealth.

All these while most countries wishes to progress fast path to become wealthy and healthy to be able to support its nation and keep on growing with ease and peace.

Isn't that is the goal in the first place??? Or rather to monetize the public individuals life to become the country's modernise enslavery and bow under the reign of dark misery behind the superficial of light???

Well bitcoin is not yet accepted in my country. Nevertheless private individuals still use it to transact. It is also converted to dollars and dollars to local currency. So there's no stopping it.

Bitcoin is not accepted in my country also. Last year the central bank and ndic (company that insures depositors funds in banks) issued a public disclaimer that Bitcoin and other crypto currencies are not legal tender in Nigeria. They fell short of saying it's illegal.

Most of the countries out there are banning it. And it seems to be the case that some of the cryptos are nothing but trouble in such case. I'd say if you are in fear of law you should not be using crypto. otherwise game on.

I don't think it's a media hoax. The central bank of Nigeria only gave an advisory warning not make it illegal. They said they won't approve it but no one is prosecuting those dealing in it. When the MMM ponzu scheme was popular in Nigeria, they gave the same warning: don't deal, at your own risk but they are registered, we won't prosecute.

Not legal means illegal; but this is not happening anywhere, people ore investing in it freely; yet due to price drop, they are now stopping invest, nothing is illegal in it, but regulations might be there.

You can't class everything as either being legal or illegal. There are things that are not legal - that is not accepted by law - yet they are not illegal in the sense that the authorities will accuse you of breaking the law. You just have to know that some things do not fall into any of this two classes. In my country, dealing in crypto currencies is one of them. As I said before, the government frowns on it, do not accept it, but you are not breaking any law if you deal in them. That means, you are not doing anything illegal so to say. I guess I made myself clear.

That do not exactly happen, when there are exchanging platforms which can exchange cryptocurrencies into local currency, then it is all under legal process. Govt agree or not, if they do not stop you, then you can do it.

In our country, It's legit. and all over the news right now. but our central bank warned the people about investing in bitcoin. because of high risk.

Bitcoin is very much legal in European Union, as per reports VAT/GST is not applicable for any conversion between Bitcoin and EU currencies; however using bitcoins for goods and services attracts all taxes; and after paying tax, it is white money.

BTC has no legal status anywhere SOUTH KOREA ALREADY BANNED IT. india is also considering same way. no major e commerce site accepts BTC as a payment option. it is created through bolckchain mining and used as a person to person without any intermediary.
though there are exchange with other currencies are available.

There are some big companies, which are accepting Bitcoin as payment method. For example, the one if not the biggest online shopping company:Amazon, another famous company:Lamborghini, and there are several other online shopping sites, which are accepting Bitcoin as payment method.

Cryptocurrency is legal but not on all country. The legalities of cryptocurrency will depend if the country will allow their citizen to use it. It can be legal for country but not for other like china.

Though lots of countries are yet to accept crypto currencies as legal currency but there are exchangers of the coins in different countries doing their businesses without stress

@kanchan18 this is not correct information;
South Korea did not banned it, there is already office by Govrnment of cryptocurrency in South Korea. India's ban was also a rumour, Govt already cleared it.
Major commerce sites like Amazon accepts BTC.
