If you have stopped automatic renewals for your domain and cannot find it on your dashboard, there are a few steps you can take to bring it back:

1. Check your email: Search for any renewal notifications or reminders from your domain registrar. In many cases, they will send you reminders before your domain expires. These emails may contain instructions on how to renew your domain.

2. Log in to your domain registrar account:
Visit the website of your domain registrar and log in using the credentials you used...

Your domain expired and was removed from your account, after about a month since it expired the domain is released to public and anyone can buy it.

Go on Namecheap or Godaddy and type your domain and see if someone took it or it's available to buy it again.

Someone was smart enough to catch your domain, this is called buying expired domains and make profit with it. The guy used a tool like this one and knew your domain has good backlinks, is getting traffic... and this is another way to make money online.

the domain is getting 60k visitors per month and domain authority is 56 and over than 3 k backlinks .

You lost big time if those numbers are correct. Be more careful next time with domains you own!

Usually namecheap keep the domain with your account for 30 days or so. Godaddy keeps it for 10 days. So if they dont see you renew they are going to close the domain and keep it open for another buyer. So that's how the domains may get out of your hand.

Much better you enable automatic renewal if you don't check your email often, just to make sure to avoid those errors. This is an eye opener to all other website owners.

It's unfortunate mate. It looks like you have already lost that domain to domainers/resellers. Their fingers are so fast. I believe your registrar must have been sending you some mails for renewal before this awkward moment. The bad thing now is that, if you want that domain back, you would be surprise at the kind of price those resellers/domainers would be telling you. It's really unfortunate, but everyone is trying to make money so you can't blame them for this.

This would have been avoided, it's a mistake from you. If you want the domain back, try to make some offers and know how much the person or company is willing to sell, then you can decide on what to do. If it's much higher than your budget, move on and learn from your mistake. At least you would be care next time.

Good luck!

Ok, thats cool. Maybe he knew how valuable your domain was. At least you now know the domain is with a safe hand, since he is your best friend. I'm happy for you.

This is a trick to get a renewal promo code from Godaddy.
About a week ago I wanted to renew 5 domains, and I put them in the cart and leave Godaddy without buying.

3 Days ago I received an email from GoDaddy, offering 20% promo discount to domain renewals.
I know is not much but still saved me some cash, I suggest do the same and see if you get in your inbox the same promo.

A lesson to learn here for everyone, if you are promoting your website, then be sure you will buy the domain on time, otherwise somebody else will buy the domain which become popular on your effort.

Lol, they most have thought that they were almost losing a customer, so they had to get him back with a tempting offer.

Well, nice one. The discount may not be much but it would sure save some cash, especially if one has lots of domains.

I am going to plan website domain soon and will use same trick as @Mr. B did, thanks for giving such nice advice, this will save me some. My domain is actually for social work, and might I will set with either .com or .in domain name.

Can you ask your friend how much did he pay for domain and compare with your price? I asking because you do much SEO and domain should have bigger value.

My pleasure. Another thing I noticed, so about a week ago I wanted to buy a domain name, but I haven't since I was unsure about the niche and the actual market, well right next day GoDaddy sent me an email with 20% OFF, I clicked the link from my email and still did not buy it. Later that day another discount if I buy that domain 25% off, click again the link and at this point, I just wanted to see if I get a bigger discount and YES! I did, the following 2 days I got 30% OFF and even 40% OFF, and they keep sending the 40% OFF to my inbox, I think this is the last offer they have. Anyways I will wait couple more days and after that will make a video and share it with everyone this trick to get a bigger discount when purchasing a domain name even you, not a first-time customer, you know these discounts are offered usually to first time Godaddy customers, old customers rarely can use discounts codes and they say, "We can only offer such great promotion to limited people" or "you already used this code".

Here the screenshot of the last discount :D
godaddy coupon 40 off.jpg

Wow, very much thanks, this is actually going to be a good saver while purchasing. Did you checked with other domain sites also? How much they charge, and till last discount they keep price in comparing with Godaddy?
I will wait for that YouTube video.

Did you checked with other domain sites also?
I only have domains registered with Godaddy now, can't test if Namecheap, for example, offers same discounts or bigger.

As I checked, Godady is charging less for .com, but more for ,org , .net domain. This made me think that why somebody would like to buy such domain like .net, when same domain name with .com is "available" for less price?
And what about free? For example in One.com ; all domains are showing free with setup fees only for first year as uploaded image.
