Altcoins are performing much better than bitcoin this year with 0x (ZRX), Augur (REP), and Ethereum (ETH) leading at the front. Ethereum's value rose up by 88%, whereas 0x and Augur rose by 98% and 97%. This may be due to the fact that people are investing more in altcoins as a result of rapid money printing from government agencies. The crypto market is going through a bull run and it will be interesting to see where the price goes...

Yeah, maybe you're right. Too many fiat money in circulation will leads to currency devaluation and people are investing in crypto that they treat as safe haven.

seriously, those are nice improvements for ETH and the other coins as they aren't popular as BTC, maybe they will be BTC competitors in the near future ? who knows

Other altcoins rose last month. Digibyte and atomic wallet token both did well. Some altcoins are getting listed on more exchanges which can give better liquidity and therefore demand. More alts are now available for staking giving a reason to hold coins.

You left BCH (Bitcoin Cash). This cryptocurrency has surpassed even ethereum and now they are almost same in value though.

This is quite true . I have noticed that some of the altcoin have done very well this year as compared to bitcoin , however , I still believe that before the year ends , bitcoin will surprise us by a high rise .

Am kind of new to the crypto world and will really want to get started with. Hope to find more light to all of it and get my hands on them real fast

You can start earning some crypto now by claiming free rewards on some faucets. It's a good way for newbie to get used on how crypto works. Welcome to cryptoworld buddy.

Nice suggestion though but was thinking that the low earning process that comes with claiming through faucets may discourage him . Will add , that he should get a wallet and withdraw his earning here through cryptocurrency. Also most wallets has introduction to beginners in it . this can help too.

Faucets are never meant for earning, that's the most common misconception about them. Like I said above, it's good for newbie to learn on how to make a wallet, learn about crypto price fluctuation, and transferring crypto.

Can faucets offer these ? Especially the fluctuation aspect of cryptocurrency? .
Secondly , The process in faucet offers little knowledge about cryptocurrency when compared to the information on different sites .

Maybe not all faucet, but faucet like Freebitco.in closely follow bitcoin price movement - higher the price means less faucet reward and vice versa.
You are only to understand that the price are lower than before because you have been long in online , you can easily sense that it is as a result of drop in price . this is not the case with a newbie . he will be confused with the fluctuation in the rewards . although, this can cause him to ask questions , and learn from the answers .

This is true, ethereum is currently at $226 while Bitcoin cash is $222, this should that Bitcoin cash had risen much faster. It is better all hands should not focus on bitcoin alone but also altcoins.

I love how the Altcoins are gaining ground but how dependent is the rise of these Altcoins to the rapid rise of bitcoin?
Most of the new altcoins are independent of bitcoin price because the developers have their own strategy of penetrating the Market. They have risen much higher than bitcoin .

Many say that the rise of altcoins may affect the rise of BTC, most notably because of the rise of smart contracts in decentralized finance (DEFI). Among the currencies with the highest increase are BAND and LINK.
