I just read Google will stop indeks Flash content. I know Adobe will stop support Flash until end of 2020 and in Chrome you need to give special permisson to run it, but how will this affect on many sites with Flash games? Do they have convert all games in HTML5 format or Google will read games description and still keep it high on search results? Description is just classic plaintext.

First of all I don't know how they index flash media content because all these while i thought the algorithm can't do that. so this really comes as a surprise to me.

so better switch to native and in-video ads for your sites as they will convert better and won't need the requirement to run flash meaningwhile serving the purpose at backend

This advice is good for site monetization and ads network, but what about content made in Flash like Flash game? I only know for HTML5 or Java for replacement. Java is for animations and HTML5 for games.

the only part that i'm interested in is that flash games will be no longer available , which is pretty sad , since those are a huge part from my childhood , i hope there will be another alternative

there are alternatives, gamer should resort to html 5 games, actually there are lots of online tools that allow us to create html5 games. i have a games site and all of them are already published in html5, so im ready for this changes. in fact, apple stopped and killed flash their own product and resorted to mobile games.

actually , even if you develop your own games, you'll never managed to make an exact copy of them , it would be better if those famous flash games ( like y8 ) make a backup of the games , so atleast we can play them through windows flash player ( schockwave )

flash is actually an compiled .exe of a different kind so it would be risky if google will index them as they might contain malware or virus inside their codes.
Flash content have java script that Google not indexing as you know that people says content is king and thus, every one prefer php and html base code web pages.

Flash - Goodbye time is now up. It is reported that the Flash feature was disabled in version 69 on Firefox and in 2016 Google banned the use of Flash in ads and HTML5 technology was used instead.

Last year, Google indicated that Flash content could hinder a website's transition to Mobile First indexing.

Google has now announced that it will stop providing support for Flash later this year, after which the Flash content on web pages will be ignored by Google and no more SWF files are indexed. Google Books The impact on the search will be minimal. And that on the Google Blog for webmasters. Google also asked to use alternatives such as HTML5 as alternatives to Flash.
yeah it's not a new thing, in fact, it was announced back in 2015 that it won't be supported anymore, and since then, a lot of browsers stopped having it enabled by default

Oh don't worry too much about that since there's a group that archive flash games. If you have any flash games they don't have yet please consider to donate your collection to them so that we can preserve all flash games in existence.

thanks a lot pal, there are indeed a lot of flash games from the childhood that are really worth paying a visit, since nostalgia kicks hardely sometimes hehe :p

Well, at least we can still play those nostalgic flash games thanks to Flashpoint archiving effort and The Eye that helps mirror their archive.

This morning, Chrome just warned me that today is the last day of Flash-player operation on this browser, but not anymore from tomorrow!
Only thing, a single game for now allowed me to download an executable file, to be able to play it.
For the rest, I still don't know anything.

Well, that's actually false because Chrome still supports Flash, but on December 31st, 2020, that's when Flash is going to be removed for good, meaning that you will have to use an older browser version to get Flash working. You have to manually allow access for Flash to run on your computer.

I see. But I'm sorry, look at this icon on my desktop.

And then, it is a link to an .exe file of a soccer manager game.
Before, I could have played this game directly from the Google Chrome browser.

It's an executable file, something that can't be in any instance be used on Google Chrome unless if you are using a VM. If you are talking about flash games, then yes you are right to say that they don't work, and you probably can't launch them on Chrome anymore.

Indeed. However I wish I could ask you: As you see such a flash game (like any other), it starts an executable file.
Do you have any idea how this (sorry, I'm asking you outline obviously) works?
Thank you in advance.

Let me run it down for you, while I'm not a software expert, I do know a few things

Yes, Flash runs using an executable file, that file called .sfw (Shockwave Flash.) Basically the reason why that your not able to currently run Flash on Chrome is because you don't have it set to Ask First. What you want to do is configure it so that your sfw runs only on Chrome (you might have done this already, but I don't know) then you want to go into chrome://settings/content and make sure to click on Flash and select "Ask First." Drag your file into the browser or open it up and ta da, it works.

What I was thinking was that you were trying to compare .sfw files as a .exe file, which is correct. lol sorry

Ok, thanks dear friend. Now I'll take your instructions, point by point, and try to figure out what I can do best.
Because I'm sorry this change, let me really messed up!
