Hi everyone,

FluidStack is a cloud platform that serves websites from a network of consumer devices (instead of large data centres). We save websites money, and put unused hardware to good use.

Sponsored: BeerSurveys.com - Earn 10$ per Day doing Tasks, Try Apps, Complete Surveys.

We are looking for beta users to run FluidStack nodes. This means installing the software and leaving it running in the background. The software will detect when your device isn't being used, and then it will use a small amount of your bandwidth and CPU to test our network and serve web content.

The requirements are a good internet upload speed, a Windows desktop computer, and uPnP. We pay between $5-$50 per month (more for better internet speeds) to have the node running. If accepted, we guarantee a flat monthly payment amount.

You can sign up for a spot here Just register for an account and fill out the information form. Please make sure to sign up with your PayPal email!

To be approved faster please put: "beermoneyforum" in the referral field while you register.

Please do PM me if you have any questions or feedback!

I'm interested and I have a 300Mbps connection, so this shouldn't pose any problem.
Are there any requirements regarding the hardware? If I can run a Linux machine I can guarantee 100% uptime, if I'm forced to use Winblows it'll be less. The Linux machine I'll just turn on and leave it humming along in the corner of the closet, lol.

Never mind, I looked through the FAQ and it turns out Linux isn't supported yet and RAM would be lower than 2GB I'm certain.
Maybe if you get the Linux version ready, the RAM requirement will be lower? We all know Winblows can be a real resource hog...

please help me with this i am unable to install software it shows " you must have one router between you and your isp" and i only have one router in my home... please help :(

You state on your FAQ that: "At the moment, only 64bit Windows. Linux support is coming soon!"
Yet I'm having problems with xp64bits, the connection is successful but after a couple of minutes on the dashboard says it is disconnected. Can you check xp compatibility please? Thank you.

Has anyone gotten paid for the month of May yet? I still have not but I did get paid for March and April just fine.
Yes, for example @spellmaker got paid for May a few weeks ago:

Did your dashboard show any balance last month or was it $0 for all of the month?

Yes I had a balance same as the months prior to May but this time I didn't receive a payment at the start of the new month. I hope someone at FluidStack can shed some light on this for me. Thanks for letting me know that it was just me.

Since the "scam or Legit" thread is closed i have to post in this:

Hi guys.

Today Fluidstack updated their terms about Dedicated servers and VPS to also include VM running in your private home.

That's okay, no biggie.

The problem is this:
Hi,

I am emailing with regards to your Virtual Private Server / Virtual Machine Nodes.

We are do not support VPS nodes due to provider throttling concerns.
Many VPSs get throttled after a certain amount of usage which means that we are unable to use them for our clients and you aren't going to be able to make more money than you are paying for them.

Virtual Machines prevent the proper functioning of the node by restricting access to certain features.

Your current VPS nodes will stop working, and new nodes set up on VPSs will not work either. You will not be paid for any VPS nodes, and the balance will be removed from your account. Repeat infractions will lead to a ban.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Cheers,

No warning they removed my two nodes, the data collected AND 10$ referral bonus?!

Beside that...
What does this even mean?
" Virtual Machines prevent the proper functioning of the node by restricting access to certain features."

This is from the FAQ updated today:
06-19-2019

What are the technical requirements?
Written by Gary Wu
Updated today
This is the current list of technical requirements:
Microsoft Windows.
A desktop computer. We also accept laptops which are online more than 50% of the time.
2GBs of RAM.
10 GBs of free storage space.
>10Mbps upload speed.
If you don't meet these requirements, you will not get paid.

We do not support VPSs, cloud servers or VMs, please do not install on these as you will not get paid.

If internet connection and harddisk are the important parts, WHAT are the "certain features."
cookies, personal files, behavour tracking, keyloggers or whatever that exist?

Ohh and by "coincidence" i just got above 19$ and my deleted nodes still uses bandwith, after they are removed.

I installed the software in two separate isolated machines, with no access to anything else but wan (internet)
A lot of transparency is missing, regarding to WHAT our internet and computers are used for.

I might be paranoid, but this could cover everything, so far no proof some Fluidstack (as far i can google)

Your computer is anonymously aggregated into a cloud network of thousands of devices. These devices are then used as a whole, with tasks distributed amongst all of them, in order to provide low cost and high performance cloud services.
Cloud services we provide currently are CDN and video transcoding. We aim to rapidly expand the number of services we are able to provide.

I would like you to, think twice before installing the app onto anything with personal information, or network access to personal information.
It's not my decision for you to go for a run or not.

Cheers.

Technically this is the "scam or legit" topic, just official one. Regarding the removal of your funds and VMs from their network, it's been a "public secret" for a while now that FluidStack doesn't accept VPSes/dedicated servers due to the fact that hosts / ISPs behind them could throttle or ban connection between the system and FluidStack. In case of VMs, due to the fact that VM is not an actual machine and is pretty much the same as a VPS, it could be mistaken for a VPS and because it's a virtual machine there could be driver / software issues which prevent FluidStack from functioning, thus they're forbidden.

Thank you Rainer. They should come clear instead of avoiding giving a strait answer, nothing wrong with your assumption.

Beside that....

After removing Fluidstack via "Apps and Features" uninstall
I did a registry scan.
54 hits, including leaving your firewall open.

I'am not sure if using the "uninstall" from C:\Program Files\FluidStack\Uninstall.exe make a difference, maybe someone else can tell?
It might just be bad coding, or it might be for a reason, i can't tell.

If you click/tap on the question mark above your percentage, your will see that "This is the percentage of time your node has been online, calculated from 2AM UTC yesterday to 2AM UTC today."

Yea, that's what I don't understand, what does it mean by that? Sorry, I'm new to this.

It means that if you get at least 12 hours online uring this period, you will get paid depending on your internet speed, because you need to get your availlibility at least 50% to get paid

Ah, gotcha(I think), thank you both for the replies. You might see me pop back up with some stupid questions if it doesn't work.
