I noticed some threads attract a lot of trash posts and literally the genuine reviews are hard to spot.

I was thinking first to decrease again the number of posts or decrease the earning rates but that will affect the entire community.

At this point, all threads that attract trash content will be closed and I will start looking closely at members name that spread trash posts instead of genuine reviews.

I will start making a list and these members that post trash content will be excluded from our rewarding program.

Any ideas will be welcome! WEe all want to keep the health of the community. Thanks!

What should I do?
- close threads that attract trash?
- ban members that post trash?
- decrease earning rates
- decrease posting limit
- other idea?

I hope you consider my suggestion. Try making the reward of 45 BMF per comment and only one comment per thread. In this way spam will be controlled and more will be motivated to post well

I'm really not sure how you can stop it. Perhaps start a 'warning system' for users that are simply posting things for the sake of posting them...three strikes and they get banned. Either that, or for each 'warning' they get their earning amount is reduced by 5 BMF coins...first warning drops them to 10 instead of 15, second warning drops them to 5, third warning and they don't earn anything for posting.

First thing is how will you find ho is posting trash and who is not?

Like attracte coin loss, so most of the users will shy away giving like to even very helpful comment; so Trash Post and Good Post will remain same.

I think people should only post their real experience or/and ask queries from those who are expert of that site/section; but many users post anything they like, I am sorry I any such post happened from our side.

Thank you for thinking about community first instead of decreasing earning credit and posting limits.

If a person is not in a site, he/she may not post anything like an expert; although users can ask their query. But if someone make false claims, then better is to remove those comments and take back earned rewards.

Another idea (may not be easy to implement) If a user is guilty of posting trash in some thread, then ban the user from posting on those threads only. He/She will also get a chance to correct self in other threads, or inform you how he/she was not wrong (if contains proof).

I will suggest you to hire some moderator, who will check all threads in every 1-2 days, and if someone posted trash comment he/she will warn her/him for three times and after that if user do again, then ban the user.
It's so difficult for you Mr.B to check all the threads by yourself, yo need to do other things as well, etc.

The number of following ways to be done to make your forum filled with quality !!-
1) Make a limit of number of posts on any thread .
2) Increase the reward more than 15 because 15 bmf is too low and that's why mostly every member leaving few makes a short and trash post and move to another thread .
3) Use your trophy and points system to get quality and lots of user .
4) Bring some competition among member regarding rewards and posting .so that they all post excellent posts .
5) increase the minimum word limit from 100 to 150 and increase rewards and decrease number of posts per hours .
6) Here everybody are treated equal so there should be level ,member with higher level earns more .
7) Give warning in pm to user who post trash and encourage them .
(don't hurt them by giving warning u will be banned ).
8) Ban some user who post trash .
9) Make a contest of top 20 quality poster and reward some extra bmf for their work like Super Singh.etc
10 ) There should be something extra and small login bonus and
Limit should be like ;-
4 posts and 2 thread per hours etc .
......hope this 10 points make some changes in your awesome forum.;););):rolleyes::D.
Thankyou !!...

This is just my opinion. I was here solely for the myLot thread to try to correct people that were posting things about it that weren't necessarily true, because it does operate a bit differently than most sites.

BMF is a site designed for people to get together and discussion money making opportunities on the Internet, or at least that has always been my impression.

But it seems some people are instead using the site itself as a money-making opportunity and trying to get every penny out of it they can.

Of course, being from myLot, I come from a completely different view, because there the 'money' is simply an incentive to use it, instead of a reason to be there.

I'm not saying being here (BMF) for the money is wrong, by any means. But posting things simply for the sake of getting money here kind of defeats the purpose of the site in my eyes.

As long as people are more worried about posting things just trying to make the maximum amount they can instead of actually discussing how they can go about making more money other places, you'll probably continue having trouble with the type of posts happening.

But like I say...this is all from my eyes, and I am likely quite different in how I see it.

I disagree with @Devil Singh 's point No 5, this would be punishing entire community, and also this point itself is against his point No 10.
Also Login Bonus to 7k+ users daily is not possible, this will cost BMF more that 2k$ per month, @Mr. B already removed login bonus last year.

@JolietJake 's suggestion is wonderful; however for this BMF have to change the Pay Per Post system and Pay for participation. Users can comment any time, but they will be paid by their total contribution under the revenue distribution system.
But this suggestion is much better.

Also remove the Like system from losing coins, this way people will be encouraged to like useful posts without worrying of losing their coins.

Another option we could have, increasing earning per posting new "program reviews" and decreasing earning for "posting replies"? I think we will see trash content disappear since posting it will earn you very little as it uses to.

And if you thinking "ohh there are no new programs" and "we cannot find them".

Well, clearly you too lazy to search but I can provide a list of sources that have literally thousands of new programs every single day posted. So this excuse is out of the question.

And how much should be the reward for posting new threads? And how many per hour or day?

NEW Programs should be rewarded with 40-50 bmf per program and 60-80 Bmf when somebody attaches a program with some proof of payment -:Greedy:D:Greedy,,,
and limit should be 5programs/ 2 hours .
and for commenting there should be 4 per hours with 15-20 bmf each

And when u will implement this nrw rule ???I'm waiting for some changes and update in Earning !!.

Thankyou !!.;):D;)

I think we can introduce a rating system, kind of like the "like" system we currently have, but it'd be "dislike". Users can dislike any comment that they find inappropriate/trashy for the thread and if that post has more than X dislikes, then the member will be warned. If the member does it again, then they can get softbanned as a punishment and finally, banned permanently if they keep doing it. BMF is a community and we should all work together to get rid of the bad posts.

I agree with @JolietJake and I also use BMF as a source to talk about sites rather than a site to earn money, but I think many users see it the other way which is why we have trash posts.

Here's what I think we SHOULDN'T do:
- Limit the number of posts that one can post to a thread. There's new information all the time, some members have questions or want tips for the sites... it is impossible to include everything in one post.
- Decrease the rates. Unlike others, I think this will attract even more spammers... they will want to quickly produce mass comments to fulfill the limit and then leave. They wouldn't want to waste time producing quality comments for BMF if the pay is too low.

@Miya Your suggestions of dislike system would become a headache.
Trollers will give dislike just because they disagree to someone; I still remember this happened in old mylot and I have to delete my account two times just to keep safe from trollers.

There will always be trolls everywhere and it can't be helped. When someone gives a dislike, maybe they can be asked to provide a reason and then Mr. B can check it. The system works fine over at FC so I don't see why it won't work here.

I see the report system as more severe. If reported, I think that person needs to get a warning. But if the person is disliked, it would need to be an X number of times before they get a warning. So if you get 1 dislike from a troll, it wouldn't affect you.

This gives the community a part to play in this and we can help decide/find the trashy posts.

There should be rule like this to get quality posts ;-
Mr. B Should rewards member for reporting trash posts and in this way trash posts will no longer posted by bmfers .

I think you have to add some moderators on different topic like if some well known member has knowledge on that category then make him moderator of that specific category he will find and look trash comments on his/her category.
Second suggestion is that make a secret chat with some well known member and discuss about report trash comment or post :)

@Miya that will not work, trolls are no such stupid; they can be strong if such warning can be done, my experience in mylot informs me well.

No member must be warned or punished unless they break the rules - this is more important.

If trolls really wanted to troll, they could abuse the report system too. No system is perfect. I see the report system as more severe which means if you are reported for violating a rule, you should be warned or punished. If you are disliked once, nothing will happen. You'll only get punished/warned if there are multiple dislikes from different members. So one troll will not affect you.

That means innocent users who get trolled won't get punished.

Multiple dislikes from different members does not means trolls won't be able to misuse. This thread is to discuss how to stop trash, not to warn users for dislike by others.

And my point is as @JolietJake clearly mentioned Pay Per Post and limited post under limited hour - this actually attracts trash post which online earners wants to have.

If @Mr. B change it like myLot (New or Old) then all problem will be sorted out; people will earn for their participation (like old mylot) or earn for interaction (like new mylot) without worrying which time and how many post.
This will also save BMF's revenue system from getting empty.
