When the lock downs begun I was working in sales. You know the deal - minimal wage plus a commission, but since there were so few customers I was not making enough money to cover my basic expenses.
My anxiety went trough the roof and at one point I thought, I would have to move back with my parents. Not that it's the worst thing on the planet, but if you are a guy in his 20s living mommy and daddy is not a dream situation.
At that time all I did is complained about my situation, which didn't exactly make me very popular with other people.
However a friend took pity on me and invited me to join a team play poker chat room he was in. I told him that I don't even know how to play poker, but he convinced me to give it a try. Team play is when couple of people sit on a table and share with each other what cards they have, and they play as a team against the rest of the players on the table.
I was doing pretty well, but the summer came and many of the restrictions got lifted and my regular job picked up. Standing on your feet 8 hours a day trying to sell a person something that they probably don't want and most likely don't need is a joyless existence. On top of that I started making more money from the poker than my ""real"" job. So last October I decided to quit and just play poker.
To be honest I've never been more happy in my life. I feel free and in control for the first time. I just wanted to vent a little and share my experience(maybe brag a little).
If you have any questions leave them in the comments bellow and I will try to answer to the best of my abilities.

I quit my job to play online poker

Quitting your job to play online poker full-time can be a risky decision, as it's not guaranteed to be a sustainable source of income. Here are a few things to consider before making such a decision:

  1. Income stability: Online poker can be a volatile source of income, and there's always the risk of losing money. It's important to have a backup plan or savings in case your poker income is not consistent.
  2. Skill level: Your ability to make money from online poker will depend on your skill level. If you're not already an experienced and winning player, it's important to be realistic about your chances of success.
  3. Time commitment: Playing online poker full-time...
There are professional online gambler that took interest in gambling as their daily job and they are making it , but they decided to focus mainly on gambling becasue of unemployment, they didn't quit the job that will be giving them money monthly to focus on gambling.
Yeah , unemployment is the major cause of concern especially among the youths in many countries including ours which makes the youths to take gambling as an earning opportunity and they start early at the young age. These people later on become professional gamblers and they have all the ups and downs just like how the gambling industry works.

Unemployment has turn many youth into an addicted and perpetual gamblers , If you go-to the offline sports betting shops , 98% of the people there will be youth and also talking about online betting consists of mostly youth, that's the negative effect of unemployment.

It is very irresponsible of anyone to quit his paying job for any online casino or poker.
I want to ask this question, people who gamble, are they really responsible people?

I don't see myself toeing the same path with this man. I will not quit any of my paying job for gambling....
What I really do is to derive fun in sport betting because i follow most of the football club and I only place betting during the weekend's with the token i can only do without , so leaving and quitting my job to become a professional addicted gambler is out of it.

Due to addiction he has to quit his daily paying job for one online poker gambling.
That is just for him and also the reason is best known to him.

Why should I abandon my salary job for a gamble that I am not even sure of winning. It was a bad decision from him. I hope he sees the reasons to reverse that....

That was a foolish decision, poker or any kind of gambling is not a mean of earning an income, it is a mean of losing money, even if you win, you cannot keep winning.
What is the proof that you really make money from poker?
Are you earning by sending referrals to any poker like this?
True, leaving a job for poker or any game is not a good decision. It doesn't make any sense to me. The game does not give a grantee for winning it's like the two sides of a coin sometimes you may win and sometimes you may lose.

There ar plenty of other good small jobs that youth can do including online earning and freelancing. Gambling should be the worst case option according to me if someone is unemployed for long time. The best advice for youth is to start developing their skills early , take few calculated risks and start building their career positively instead of thinking about gambling and betting at such a young age.

Leaving a job that is paying you daily and going into full time gambling that the income is not guaranteed is not the best way to follow.

I will not leave my job that is guaranteed income for gambling that is not certain that will provide any income for me.

Gambling should be considered only as a fun activity , otherwise it can badly ruin the life of anyone who is trying to make some money out of the internet. I prefer visiting real casinos online , rather than trusting any online casinos because the feel of fun in gambling will only come in real world. But gambling as a whole should be avoided as much as possible , when someone is having a good paying job.

I feel the same like you, gambling should be regarded as fun activities and not any source of income because it could ruin your entire life and your resources.

Though some people indulge in gambling to test run how viable it could but later discover how addictive and bad it could be, and many quit.

They dont actually quit, most fof them realize early that gambling cannot help them in earning , but their addiction doesn't allow them to quit gambling , the same case with me. But it's necessary to have control on ourselves before betting big the real money , however addictive it might be. Luckily, our government ha started banning many online casinos which is a good news for me.

That is not really a good decision to make, quitting your good job for gambling is not right for you.
Though I t was your decision and I don't know why you took such decision.
Gambling can not be regarded as a means of income or livelihood.
But it is based on luck and can be addictive as well.....

I am a student , so I don't have many options to earn , that's the reason why I was initially attracted to gambling. But good thing is i realised it already that gambling can't help to earn me consistent money , so the only way I can earn money is by doing hardwork and get settled with well paying offline or online job.

Firstly, having a good stable income source is must for your daily errands. And on the other hand, poker is never a career, rather than a pure luck game. You can win hundreds and even lose millions. The greed may ultimately not favour you and you may lose your hard earned money.

He seems to be promoting some gambling platforms, all gambling sites earn on the loss of players, but they also share their revenue with those who bring gamblers to them. He clearly is promoting that way, he didn't mentioned one name, so have plan for promoting multiple as per requirement.

It is a wrong idea to quit your daily paying job which is guaranteed to join gambling.
Why I don't like gambling is because it can get addictive and ruin your entire life and finally leave you broke all your life.
I don't think I will leave my job and join gambling which seems to destroy people's career...

should i quit my job to play online poker Or the family man who is married with 2.5 kids, the white picket fence and all that. If you went the higher education route and have a solid career as an engineer, doctor, lawyer or so on, then you should definitely not quit your job to play poker.
Quitting your daily paying job for poker or gambling is not the best decision to make at the point.
Most people out of anxiety make decisions that are not right.
Gambling are usually based on luck and probability.
People who live such life get frustrated and it could lead to depression.
I rather stay on my daily paying job than to get involved in gambling......

I don't think that is a wise decision why should you depend on gambling. I think you may be addicted to gambling and you need assistance. You should just look for an good job that you love doing and that will be bring you good money. You can even work online instead of just gambling all your money that you have left.

I don't really think he made a good decision to quit his daily paying job for any gambling poker.
I don't really know the reason why he took such wrong decision.
I wish he could retreat his steps and take up the former job, I know he will be better off with that.
Personally, I will not take such drastic decision when I Know how risky gambling is......

What matters is what gives you joy and freedom. As long as you are making more money from playing online poker, there is no doubt that it is the best for you at the moment.

But what you have to understand is that gambling of any form is not a reliable source of income.

I would advise you to save some money from the online poker and use it to venture into other profitable businesses that would give you steady money.

If you resign from your job because it is very stressful, I think there are a lot of other jobs you can do again that may be less stressful and more lucrative.

Going into gambling full time would not be a good idea since the the income that comes from gambling is not sure because it is all based on luck and probability.
I will advise you to get a new job that pays you guaranteed income....
