Toluna Review – SCAM or PAYING?

Posted on

Toluna is a paid survey platform, however, its structure is different from other survey sites. Toluna is structured into Toluna influencers and Toluna insights. Toluna Insights division is concerned with collecting consumer opinion to various companies about their products while Toluna influencers are tasked with providing surveys about different products and services.

Surveys on Toluna are created usually by market research agencies and brands. As with many paid surveys, Toluna surveys start with a few questions to ascertain if one is part of the targeted demographic needed for the study.

Toluna gives users an opportunity to post Topics, Polls, Thumbs it and Battles in the community and encourages user’s participation and interaction. Polls are a good way for users to get answers to things they want to know while Battles are a good way to compare two products or services and so is the Thumbs it.

Surveys on Toluna take between 15 and 20 minutes according to their website although users say it sometimes takes up to 30 minutes. The surveys can be accessed through their website or through an invitation sent to a users’ inbox.
Toluna offers points as a form of reward for the user’s effort. Users also get rewarded points for filling out their profiles signing up and creating quality content. Toluna rewards 2,500 points per survey and one survey takes up to 30 minutes. 30,000 points are equivalent to a $30 payout. The points can be redeemed for sweepstakes tickets, gift cards, cash, and many other things.

One good thing about Toluna is that it is available in many languages such as English, Nederland, French, Dutch, Spain, Italy, Chines and many more languages. The website is also available in many countries and regions even Saudi Arabia.
The downside of Toluna is that it takes a considerably long time to accumulate enough redeemable points. It can a user approximately 5-7 hours to make $30 on Toluna. However, there are many surveys available on Toluna to ensure a user earns enough points.

Another drawback is the constant bugs. Imagine taking 20 minutes to do a survey and at the last instance, you get logged out. It is very disheartening considering the amount of time and resources the user has used. Users have also complained of slow response from support and disbursement of funds to PayPal.
For those who want quick bucks, Toluna is not for you. Toluna requires a lot of patience but yeah it pays.
