Google Adsense reviews.png
Google AdSense is an advertising network that you can join if you own a blog or a website. Before attempting to join this network it is a good idea to understand how Google AdSense works and what is required from you. Many websites and blog owners use Google AdSense to earn money renting out ad space on their site each month. A website should have a good amount of content, keywords, and traffic that visits the site each month. The amount of traffic and the type of content that is posted on your site will determine how much you can earn using this network. Many websites and blog owners swear by Google AdSense and they earn a hefty amount of money each month through this network. There are some site owners that have earned $5000 to $45,000 a month through Google AdSense.

How To Join Google AdSense:
  • In order to join the network, you're required to fill out an application with AdSense.
  • The application process is quite simple and they will require you to supply them with your website or blog site URL.
  • The network needs an email address so they can contact you with their answer.
  • You'll need to agree to the terms of service and fill out some personal information such as your name, address, location, and phone number.
  • Once your application has been submitted to Google AdSense, it will take around 7days for the network to review your site and give you an answer. Google will send you an email if they have approved your site or your site has been rejected for one reason or another.
  • I did find out if you have registered with Google Console it is a lot easier to get your website or blog approved.
  • Once you've been approved, you'll receive a code from AdSense that must be placed on your website. The code needs to be placed between the <head> and the <head> tags on your site.
  • If you own a WordPress website or blog, it will be necessary to use a plugin to place this code on your site. Google doesn't recommend that you edit the header information on your site. Once a theme is updated the information will be deleted.
  • After the code has been placed on your site, go back to your dashboard and let Google know you are ready to start receiving ads on your site.
How Google AdSense Place Ads?

AdSense places ads on your website in one of 4 ways:
  • Targeted content – they check the content on your site to place the ads.
  • Contextual targeting – this is determined by your keywords, font size, word frequency and the overall links on your site.
  • Placement targeting – advertiser will request a certain placement for their ads on the different sites. They can also choose which sites to run their ads on.
  • Run of network targeting – an advertiser can choose all the sites in the network to place their ads on or they can eliminate a few of the sites.
How Are You Paid by Google AdSense?
  • Once your site has reached the threshold of $100 the company will send you a letter with a PIN code. This is used to verify your identity and the information that you used when signing up for the AdSense. This is only sent out once and it is normally when you first join the network.
  • Each account has a threshold that must be met by the end of each month. Normally this is $100 in your account. If you don't meet the threshold for a month the money is carried over to the following month.
  • The company pays everyone on the 21st of the following month.
  • You can choose to be paid by Electronic Funds Transfer, Single Euro Payment Area, wire transfer, a check, or by Western Union Quick Cash.
  • If you live in certain countries the network might require you to give them your tax ID information.
Does anyone have experience with Google AdSense?

This is a legitimate ad network that actually pays you for placing ads on your website or blog. Share your opinion!

That is a good question really, have you gone through the FAQ for the Adsense application page?

I had Adsense years ago (probably still have it), but never managed to make a cent with it. We need loads and loads of traffic to cash in something, is that your case @ptahm22?

I have blogs wi Adsense. From what I remember, the blog should be in an accepted site (it can be your personal website or Bogger, mine is in Blogger). Adsense will check the site before they send you the codes that will connect your site to Adsense. There is no rules except that your blog is decent which means no porno, non-poilitical and non-religious. I hope this helps.

If you are from certain countries the blog needs to be 6 months old and have a significant amount of money. The easier way to get a quick approval is with a YouTube account. They seem to be a lot less picky when it comes to YouTube.

That said, yeah, it's not a quick way to make money for most people. But it beats nothing at all.

The thing I most remember that Adsense will approve a site is to follow its rules, of course. Adsense is run by Google. I have tried three times and have been approved three times but all has been stopped for accidentally clicking the ads on my blogs posted by Adsense. It is too strict and it never allows a second application.

I was able to make three attempts for I used three accounts. But the 4th time I have no other account to use. AdSense is free. If you are not able to be approved, it has another one to offer. That is AdWord and it is not free to have pay for it.

Adwords is for advertisers, for people who wants to promote products etc

I also had a hard time getting approval from Adsense before because I didn't meet their minimum requirements. I had a blog which has been running for more than 6 months and when I tried to connect it to Adsense, it says that it only accepts Blogger for blogs (mine is WordPress) so I wasn't qualified. So I created a new blog website in Blogger and I still need to make new contents and work it out for 6 months and see if it will be approved.

To get approve for adsense your blog should be at least six months in most places and you should have many contents on it. Enough work for their system to go through before deciding to approve your blog or not. Your contents must be original and take time to make your blog design appealing. It's little little things you get to put in place and your adsense approval will be sure.

Adsence have increased the requirements in the past few years, and it has gotten a bit harder to get approved, my advice would be to make sure your blog is functioning properly and it has a professional look, and your content is original.

This forum has helped me a lot. I was just talking about starting a blog about 15 minutes ago and then I run across this forum. What are the odds. I love it!!! I will begin working on creating my Blog this week. Thank-you everyone for your responses and feedback on this forum.

I would rather try Adwords on how effective it is compared with Adsense. However my point of double thinking is its payment requirement. My blog is in a mixed category and I don't have any product to sell or to promote. What I am actually going after is a free affiliate marketing system and it is offered by Adsense and the income generation may come from the frequency of site's click.

Adwords is for advertisers looking to pay and promote their products.
Adsense is for those looking to monetize their website.

I don't know if I should be involved with AdSense. It does demand quite a bit of requirement to obtain approval. I have tried before and wasn't approved. I am not sure if I would want to go that route again, probably I will just have to move on and forget about Adsense.

Some of my friends do write and involve with AdSense, but sometimes the readers only write the content but never click on the ads, thus it's a bit hard to earn via ads in this case.
They might need up to half a year to accumulate the minimum cash out level, sometimes.
Thus, I never touch this part.

It really depends on the niche, there are people that still don't use ADBLOCK and we are able to earn good money with Adsense.

Adsense is legit but the webmasters must not rely completely on them. There is no guarantee for your account. There are many other ways to monetize your websites. For instance you can try affiliate marketing along with it.

Adsense doesn't require sites with a minimum of traffic, they simply want high-quality articles, not some gibberish.
I do agree with you. AdSense requirements are very strict to follow. I don't know if AdSense has still many links or subscribers. Google has introduced an option. The AdWords is online paid advertisement.

Adsense requires approval. On YouTube, you have to reach 10,000 views and the approval process starts and your not guaranteed to get approved by YouTube. You have also have to follow there rules anywise you could risk your account getting banned.
